Flamborough Head – Live at ProgFarm 2006 (& NPF 2015)

Flamborough Head Live at ProgFarm 2006

Between 1997 and 2011 Flamborough Head organized 15 editions of ProgFarm; a progressive rock festival staged at “De Harmsdobbe”, Bakkeveen. At our tenth anniversary edition on Saturday November 4, 2006, our sound engineer Peter Verkerk recorded our gig but we never released these recordings. A few months later we gigged at the A38 in Budapest, Hungary and this show was also recorded so we decided to use these recordings instead for our first live album. Twenty years after the first edition of ProgFarm (1997) OSKAR will release Flamborough Head – Live at ProgFarm 2006 (& Northern Prog Festival 2015) as a reminder of our fine festival. As a bonus disc our gig at The Northern Prog Festival 2015 is included. This double live cd will be available November 2017.

Brightling Park is a country estate which lies in the parishes of Brightling and Dallington in the Rother district of East Sussex, England. Situated to the west of the A21 and within easy reach of Tunbridge Wells (20 miles) and Hastings (13 miles). A perfect setting for a three days festival. On Friday Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel headlined the evening. Saturday 16 July was reserved for several tributebands celebrating the music of Phil Collins, Queen, Supertramp and David Bowie. On Sunday Marc Almond, Nik Kershaw and Go West (a.o.) were on the bill.

Flamborough Head’s new guitar player: Hans Spitzen

After our Northern Prog Festival gig (2015) Gert Pölkerman decided to leave Flamborough Head; lack of time in his busy schedule forced him to make this decision.  We thank Gert for his contribution to Flamborough Head; we did some marvellous gigs together in Holland and abroad and he produced our well received album Lost In Time.

Hans Spitzen

We welcome Hans Spitzen as our new guitar player (and bass player, keyboard player & backing vocalist:-). Hans released his first solo album Fingerprints in 2015; please visit Progwereld for a (Dutch) review and an interview, both by Dick van der Heijde.

Back in 2008 Hans helped us out when Flamborough Head was working on the track Daughters Of Night for the Finnish Colossus Canto-project. Eddie, our guitar player, had just left the band and so we did not have a guitarist at that time. He has now joined  Flamborough Head as a permanent member and we all look forward to working with Hans again.
