– Hoi, ‘t was weer een superweekend. Dank voor alle lol weer [DN]
– Thanks ever so much for inviting us to Progfarm, for your hospitality and friendship! We really enjoyed our stay in Holland! Congrats for a job very very well done!! [AJB]
– Moonsafari speelt het dak eraf op #progfarm! Wat een band! Een waardig afscheid van 15 jaar progfarm. Mensen van progfarm: bedankt! [Tweet PW]
[BvdM]
– Hi guys, great gig last night @ Progfarm. A truly grand finale to a very fine festival. Thanks! [FR on Moon Safari’s Facebook]
– Many thanks for the pics. We really had much fun playing at the festival, great audience, great technical crew, so many people and good coffee 🙂 [MA]
[MvdK]
– Thanks […] for bringing us over; we had a great time ourselves and it was totally worth the long journey! […] we were quite tired from all the singing and partying on friday and saturday night:) Hope to meet you guys again on some other festival, you are all great people! We made a lot of new friends on ProgFarm.[JW]
– What can I say… as it was announced that this 15th edition would also be the LAST of the lovely ProgFarm-Festival, there was this little dispute happening among the ProgDork Squad (B., D. et moi, this time around) whether we’d be joining in on a genuine party, or perhaps some kind of a ‘funeral’-meeting this time around… […] The former edition last year […] was a genuine BLAST. So the three of us decided to make it at least as much of a !PARTY! this time around, and you might well conclude that the organization (the lovely folks of Flamborough Head/all the participating bands/WE – truly managed to do so. As usual, some kind of a genuine oddyssey to reach Bakkefâen (aka Nirwana Nirgendwo), a 2 1/2 hour journey by public transport, but that wouldn’t ever let our spirits down. As usual, the warm welcome by all kind of friendly folks from the ProgRock scene immediately made up for that, […] Nice to see you around again, dear folks! When we finally reached Bakkefâen, a nice, international line-up of so-called ‘obscure’ bands awaited there to perform for us – this time around, aside from organizers Flamborough Head themselves, Harvest from Barcelona, Spain, Toxic Smile from Germany, and quite an invasion of Swedes, namely Introitus and Moon Safari. […] Goodbye, you lovely festival – warm welcome, great bands, excellent (NOT too loud!) sound, cold barn with cold sleeping bag, atrocious public transport Journey to/fro the Centre of Nowhere, beer, nasi, wine, smokes, more wine, even more wine again, ‘broodje kroket’, beer, a smoke outside again, fantastic atmosphere, beer again (because the wine was finished), lovely people, more beer, great bands, drunk singing during the afterparty, uhm… etcetera, until, deep at night-time, it was finally OVAH. 🙁 🙁 🙁 A MASSIVE “THANK YOU!!!” to all who participated and made the Festival such a great place to be the past 15 years, most of all of course Flamborough Head! And once again, for the liner notes – “Those Who Truly Care – Were THERE!” ~wink~. [Please read Karin’s full review here]
– Sometimes it seems that certain things in life never change such as the first Saturday in November: Bakkeveen, a small village in the north of The Netherlands, then changes into the capitol of progressive rock. For just one day, the farm campsite De Harmsdobbe changes into a festival ground where five prog bands will perform. The audience attending this festival consists of almost the same people every year. Many visitors return to this annual event no matter what names are on the bill. This event is called Progfarm and it exists since 1997. However, during the fourteenth edition in 2010 […]the organizers – all band members of Dutch band Flamborough Head – made clear that the fifteenth anniversary edition might be the last one. When the line-up was presented for this year’s edition this information unfortunately appeared to be true. It’s sad because many prog bands made their debut on the Progfarm stage. I always considered it to be the best musical festival in The Netherlands and its surrounding countries[…] Weather conditions were very good during the last edition of Progfarm. Unlike last year it was sold out, which means that about two-hundred people made the long trip to this special place. However, I don’t think that the line-up was the main reason. Many people who cherish so much good memories of this prog feast, wanted to participate in this event for the last time. […] This most intimate festival of the last fifteen years will be remembered forever by all who attended it. Just amazing! Since I started reviewing the annual Progfarm Festival my final words were always: Progfarm still remains the best progressive rock festival of The Netherlands. But this time these words seem rather strange. Therefore it only remains for me to say: thanks to all the people responsible for the fifteen editions of this legendary festival that brought us many great bands. Thanks again for that! On the first Saturday in November, life will never be the same! [Read Henri Strik’s excellent and full review Background Magazine]
